SecuPoint VPN Client License Overview

• Adding multiple SecuPoint VPN client licenses to a Gateway expand the number of available SecuPoint VPN user seats, enabling more SSL VPN connections.

• The SecuPoint License follows a per-device licensing model, and its behavior is consistent with Pro Licenses in terms of Add License, Move License, Replace Device, and License Status & Lifecycle, except for operations related to “Associate License.”

• Associate License

  • When a SecuPoint License is associated with a gateway, its available VPN user seats are expanded accordingly.

• On the same Gateway, the SecuPoint License works independently from the Pro License. Even if the Pro License expires, the active SecuPoint License continues to expand SPC VPN user capacity without any impact.

How to Calculate Available VPN Users

• A Gateway (ESG) can have multiple SPC VPN Client licenses associated with it to increase the number of available VPN user seats.

• The Gateway calculates the total available VPN users by considering the available VPN users from each active VPN client license currently bound. For example, An ESG appliance comes with 2 free built-in SPC VPN user seats. When it is bound to multiple SPC VPN client licenses, the capacity expands according to the licenses. For instance, if ESG1 has SPC-1YR-LIC (20 users) and SPC-3YR-LIC (10 users) is bound at the same time (as illustrated in the first year), the licenses expand the ESG capacity by 30 additional SPC VPN users. Together with the 2 free built-in users, the ESG1 can support 32 SPC VPN users during the overlapping license period.

  

Viewing VPN Seats

• Users can view the maximum available SecuPoint SSL VPN seats under the SecuPoint VPN Client section at the top of the EnGenius Gateway device page.

  

Share VPN Seats

• Licenses for more than 100 SPC VPN users can be shared across up to 3 ESG devices within the same organization.

• Advantage – Simplified Deployment For large enterprises with multiple ESG devices, this streamlines VPN user management across multiple gateways.

  

Sharing a license to other ESG in the same Organization

1. Login to EnGenius Cloud and select the managed Organization

2. Go to Inventory & License > Devices

3. Click “Share” at the right of license with more than 100 SPC VPN users.

4. Select the ESG device(s) to share the VPN users with, and click "Confirm".

   
5. A replica license will be bound to the selected ESG device(s). These devices will then share the same pool of SecuPoint VPN user seats from the license. Note. If you want to cancel the binding, just click “Undo” to unbind the replica license.
