What is Per-Device Licensing?

Per-device licensing model allows customers to assign a license directly to a specific device, such as Access Points (AP), Switch, Gateway, Camera, and Power Distribution Unit (PDU), giving IT managers the flexibility to manage single or multiple licenses across sites and regions.

Per-device licensing provides a variety of features, simplifies overall network management, and offers ultimate flexibility for organizations of all sizes.

Users with Organization Admin privileges can assign a license with a registered device (ECW, ECW-Lite, ESG, ECS, ECS-Lite, ECP, ECC, Per-Device Licensing Features & CapabilitiesEXT). Once the license is assigned to a device that has already been added to a Network within the Organization, it becomes active and will expire when the defined license term ends, counted from the activation date.

Per-device Licensing

Per-Device Licensing Features & Capabilities

  • License devices individually: Assign a license to a specific device (ECW, ECS, ESG, ECP, ECC, EXT) and maintain separate expiration dates across devices.

  • Partial renewals: Renew licenses for selected devices at your convenience, without having to renew all devices at once.

  • Move licenses between organizations: Organization administrators on multiple organizations are able to move a license (or licenses and devices together) between those organizations without contacting EnGenius support.

  • 90-day license activation window: You will have up to 90 days to claim and assign your licenses before they activate, giving you more time to deploy EnGenius products before your licenses burn time.
