# EXT1105P

## <mark style="color:blue;">Introduction</mark>

This Quick Start Guide is designed to guide you through the installation of the **Switch Extender 4 PoE**, model **EXT1105P**, including hardware mounting and configuration.

NOTICE:

To prevent abnormal PoE output from the Switch Extender, make sure to use a standard PoE power supply compliant with 802.3at or 802.3bt.

EXT1105P supports those PoE power supply methods

* 60w PoE adapter EPA5060GBT  (selective purchasing)
* 90w PoE adapter EPA5090GBT  (selective purchasing)
* 90W is the maximum power input that EXT1105P can support

We strongly recommend using EnGenius PoE adapters (EPA5060GBT, EPA5090GBT) and the power adapter. We are not responsible for any hardware abnormalities caused by power supply issues that are not related to the equipment mentioned above.

* <mark style="color:blue;">**Reset to default**</mark><mark style="color:blue;">:</mark> Press and hold for over **10 seconds**, and all ports LED will go off and on. Then the device will be reset to factory default settings.
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Change LED display mode**</mark><mark style="color:blue;">:</mark> Press the button to change the LED mode to display the PoE status of PoE-abled ports.

## <mark style="color:blue;">Hardware Installation</mark>

The  EXT1105P can be mounted on the **wall**. Please perform the steps to install:

### Place on a Flat Surface

Attach the **Rubber Footpads** at the bottom of the Switch Extender at each corner. The **Rubber Footpads** help secure the Switch Extender and protect it from vibration and shock when stacking.

### Wall Mount

1. Determine where the **Switch Extender** will be placed and mark the location on the surface for the two mounting holes. Use the appropriate drill bit to drill two 8.1mm diagram and 26mm-deep holes on the marks.
2. For easy installation, it is recommended to use the adhesive label inside the Package Content to confirm the screw hole positions.
3. Screw the **Anchors** into the holes until they are flush with the wall; screw the included **Screws** into the Anchors but leave the screw head sticking out so you can hang the **Switch Extender** on it.

4\.  Place **Switch** **Extender** against the wall onto the **Screw** heads.

## <mark style="color:blue;">Configure with EnGenius Cloud To-Go</mark>

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Step 1: Register Device**</mark>

You can register the device either by **Cloud To-Go** **mobile app** or the **EnGenius Cloud platform.**

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Cloud To-Go**</mark> <mark style="color:blue;"></mark><mark style="color:blue;">Mobile App</mark>

You can register the switch with the **Cloud To-Go** **app.**

1. Open and log in to the **EnGenius Cloud To-Go** mobile app.&#x20;
2. Scan the QR code on the back of the device via the app

3\. If the camera successfully scans a QR code, the app will display the Device Information. You could tap "**Register**" to complete the Registration.

4\. Registered devices will be shown on the ***Inventory\&License*** page. Slide left the device and click "**Add to Network**" add the device to your personalized Network.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">EnGenius Cloud Platform</mark>

1. Login into the **EnGenius Cloud Platform**: <https://cloud.engenius.ai/>
2. Go to the ***home > Inventory*** page and click "**Register Device**".
3. Enter the **Serial Number** of the device(s) for device registration. Please refer to ["User Manual-Registering Devices to Organization".](https://docs.engenius.ai/home/cloud-user-manual/getting-started/device-onboarding)

4\. Select the registered device and click "**Assign to Network**" to add the device to your personalized Network.&#x20;

#### EnGenius Cloud Connected

Once the device is powered on and ready to connect to the Internet, It will automatically download the default configuration settings from EnGenius Cloud for automated provisioning.&#x20;

When the Switch is connected to the EnGenius Cloud Platform for the first time, it will automatically check the latest available firmware. If the firmware upgrade is required, it might take **8\~10 minutes** to complete the process.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Troubleshooting</mark>

If your Switch cannot be managed by the EnGenius Cloud Platform, there might be a problem with connecting to EnGenius Cloud.

To troubleshoot the connection issue, you may log in to the **Local Status** page:

1. Ensure your computer is on the same subnet with the switch **(192.168.0.0/24)** and directly connect to it with an RJ-45 cable.
2. Under your web browser, enter the URL:  <mark style="color:blue;">**<http://192.168.0.239>**</mark> to access the Switch's local web interface.&#x20;
3. You can review the device status after logging into the Switch with the default admin account/password <mark style="background-color:green;">(admin/password).</mark>
4. Check the information on the **MONITOR** and take action if necessary.

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Change IP Assignment Settings**</mark>

By default, the EnGenius Cloud Switch (ECS series) is assigned an IP address dynamically by the DHCP server. If you encounter issues with IP address assignment, please double-check the IP setting, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, and management VLAN. If the issue still exists, you may change your IP assignment from "***DHCP*** " to "***Static***" via the following procedure.

1. Go to the ***Configure> Local Settings*** section.
2. &#x20;Change the Configuration setting to "***Use Static IP***".
3. Configure the ***IP address, gateway, subnet mask, and DNS*** settings.
4. Reconnect this Switch to the LAN network and try again.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Change the Management Plane</mark>

If you want to manage your device through FitXpress, please unregister your Switch Extender device on Cloud platform first. Then, register the device on FitXpress. You can follow the steps below to deregister a device.

* Navigate to the Switch Extender page.
* Select your Switch Extender device.
* Click "Remove from Network" to delete Switch Extender device on Switch Extender device page.
* Go to "Inventory & License".
* Select your Switch Extender device on "Inventory & License" page.
* Click "De-Register Device" on  "Inventory & License" page to delete Switch Extender device.
* Press the reset button for 10 seconds to return the device to its default settings.
* Follow the [Cloud Management - FitXpress](https://app.gitbook.com/o/-LgVsbFz9VHz6Tj66C_6/s/Br13BrWB3pd2NaNd77wy/~/changes/41/cloud-management-fitxpress) instructions to register the Switch Extender.&#x20;

## <mark style="color:blue;">Configure with EnGenius FitXpress</mark>

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Step 1: Connecting to Ethernet**</mark>

Connect the Ethernet cable from the EnGenius Switch Extender directly to the DHCP-enabled network and make sure the switch can reach the Internet.

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Step 2: Register Device**</mark>

You can register the switch with the **FitXpress app.**

1. Open the **FitXpress** mobile app and create an account.&#x20;
2. Log in and go to the **Devices** section. Click the **Add(+)** button.
3. Scan the QR code on the back of the device via the app.

4\. If the camera successfully scans a QR code, the app will display the device Information. You could tap "**Register**" to complete the registration.

### <mark style="color:blue;">**Step 3: Connect to the FitXpress**</mark>

Once the device is powered on and ready to connect to the Internet, the **PWR LED** will stay *<mark style="background-color:orange;">Solid On</mark>*, which means the device is now connected to the **FitXpress** platform. It will automatically download the default configuration settings from FitXpress for automated provisioning.&#x20;

### <mark style="color:blue;">Change the Management Plane</mark>

If you want to manage your device through another cloud mmanagement, please unregister your Switch Extender device on FitXpress first. Then, register the device on Cloud To-Go. You can follow the steps below to deregister a device.

* Navigate to the device page.
* Select your Switch Extender device on Switch Extender page.
* Click "Delete Device" to delete Switch Extender on device page.
* Press the reset button for 10 seconds to return the device to its default settings.
* Follow the [Cloud Management - Cloud To-Go](https://doc.engenius.ai/home-engenius-qsg-library/peripheral/switch-extender/broken-reference) instructions to register the Switch Extender.&#x20;
